Case Study
The Client: Rasmussen University
The client wanted the students to create a movie poster with a western theme. The genre, design, and tagline was left up to the student but had to be a western.
Target Audience:
The target audience is the instructor assigned to the course. There is also the potential for Rasmussen University students to be included in the audience if the project is chosen to show as an example during a lecture.
The Problem:
The client wants the student to use their photo editing capabilities to create a movie poster graphic depicting a western theme. The client wants the student to also demonstrate their clipping and masking skills.
Media Pieces:
-
A standard sized poster depicting images of a cowboy and a Native American. There is also a silhouette of some rock formations in the background with a tagline meant to intrigue the audience.
Design Process:
This project demonstrates my photo editing capabilities and my ability to use clipping masks as well as textures to enhance the photo. This project was to create a movie poster and the only thing we had to adhere to was that it was a western. I recently began enjoying horror movies again and decided I thought it would be fun if it was a scary western. The tagline helps to emphasize that they’re not alone out there in the wild west.
