Print Project
Magazine Cover

Case Study
This project demonstrates my photo editing abilities as well as my experience with print projects. The model has frizzy hair which is more difficult to capture cleanly when photo editing. I utilized calculations to achieve a very clean edit. The layout demonstrates my knowledge of hierarchy when it comes to typography.
The Client: American Life
The client is American Life which produces a magazine that featured content related to health and wellness.
Target Audience:
The target audience is individuals between the ages of 16-55 who are looking for healthier ways to live their life and cope with day to day stresses. While some men do read the magazine, it's main audience is women, both single and married, and some with children.
The Problem:
The client wanted a magazine cover design featuring a model with frizzy hair that highlighted the month's theme and related top articles. The magazine promotes content for health and wellness in life.
Media Pieces:
-
A print design that met the requirements for American Life.
Design Process:
My design process was to come up with some collateral that the magazine would use for print. I located a stock photo of the a model with frizzy hair and proceeded to edit the image to remove the background. Then I used InDesign to recreate the print mockup and saved the file as a JPEG for viewing and as a PDF to send to the print company.
